An asymmetrical knitted cotton and wool blend shawl with felted wool balls trimming the points.
Knitted in bands of stockinette stitch using one strand of cotton yarn and one strand of complimentary Wensleydale longwool, with a couple of bands featuring handspun brown Jacobs Sheep yarn, the shawl is trimmed with three irregularly shaped felted Jacobs Sheep wool balls to give extra wrapping-round-the-shoulders momentum!
The bold colours and blended yarn are suitable for any wearer; the shawl can be worn as a traditional shawl over the shoulders, or as a scarf giving a splash of colour at the neck of a winter coat.
The Tale of Yarn behind this tail of yarn is quite simple!
The 'Old School Tie' shawl is named after those shiny, stripy, brightly coloured school and club ties that can be seen blowing over suited shoulders in TV adverts and those endless mini-series - this shawl has a brightly striped triangle that sits on the chest, and a long long long point that blows over the shoulder and wraps round again!
